Loving Community Echange

A Reason to Come Together

Sat May 6th at A Mindful Place
LaPorte Indiana
Noon to 5pm EDT

We are excited to host our first Loving Community Exchange!
What is a Loving Community Exchange?
Gather together all your sacred, spiritual, and goddess items that you are ready to pass on to someone else. Bring your items, with a small table to display your treasures, for exchange, giveaway, or to sell. It's up to you.

What if you are an artist, or create lovely items to sell?
You are welcome to bring those also.

We will ask $10 in exchange for your space in A Mindful Place, you keep any funds you collect that day. Share a table if you only have a few items.
It's that simple.

Types of items:
Spiritual tools (ex. malas, percussion items, rocks, crystals, shells, sage, statues, etc)
Books and tarot/oracle cards
Goddess type clothing
This will be for our spiritual community so whatever you feel would be a good fit, bring it.
At the end of the day, leave no trace behind! You collect your remaining items and take them with you remembering the items are meant to stay with you, at this time. Additionally, a representative from Brooke Lauren Rise Up Foundation Inc will be available, during the day, to collect items that can be auctioned off at the upcoming Reggae Festival on May 20th. Or, if you prefer, you are welcome to donate an item(s) in advance for the May 20th event.

Interested in participating? Let us know, in advance of the event, via email @ amindfulplace@outlook.com, or FaceBook message,

Guided Animal Spirit Journey

Cosmic Connection Center

2316 E. Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN

Sunday Feb 19th at 5pm

We will have many animal spirit guides throughout this earthwalk. Depending on where you are at and what you need at this very moment will connect you to a specific animal guide. What does that mean? It means we have help from Spirit. We are able to communicate with our animal spirit guide and gain guidance in our lives. Watching for cues from our animal spirit can help teach you how to go deeper in your spiritual life. It can help you gain more focus for your purpose in this lifetime.
Wear comfortable clothes, bring water to drink, a blanket or mat to lay on, and a journal to write in after your journey. We will discuss our journeys after we are done if you would like to share.
This will be around the gentle energy of the new moon. Think about what you want right now in your life, and what is it that you need to help you move forward. Ask for that from a place of gratitude and be open to the process.
This journey will be led by Rhonda Skinner.
The cost will be $20
The next opportunity to birth your own drum into being is Nov 13th Click on the link for more information.

Live Meditation March 12th at 7 pm EST on Instagram

Focus will be on Anxiety

Anxiety can be a normal response to a dangerous situation. It can also be debilitating for some people. An example of a situation that would make you anxious would be if you were on a safari and a tiger jumped into the vehicle with you. This could cause your blood pressure to go up, make your heart race, and make you go into a fight or flight mode, which would be considered a human response to a situation that is a real threat to our person. Once the threat is gone, the anxiety, stress, and fear brought on by the experience should go down. But for some, anxiety is the normal mode and can get in the way of living their lives. This can create more anxiety which feeds the cycle that feels neverending.
We will take a look at specific situations in your life that are causing you stress and creating anxiety. Then we will look at our thought process around the feeling. The meditation will be a gentle guided practice to help bring comfort to the anxiety that is zapping your vitality.
Join me live or when you have space to honor the practice.

Art and Social Justice

July 8th- Aug 12th
Open Reception on July 15th

Colfax Cultural Center

*Update* August 13th
I just returned home and received a letter that my piece in the Art and Social Justice received an award! I am so excited! This is such a great show I am honored.
Whoot!

One of the most interesting shows! Art and Social Justice. With the current events and how the state of the World is in general, art speaks. It help bridge the gap, it helps get the conversation going. Local artist exhibit their works July 8th- Aug 12th with an Open Reception on July 15th.

I have a piece in the show 'When is it Enough' a reflection of the treatment of others who are different than you, those who think differently, act different and feel differently. When is it enough? How much do we need to tare down to survive and at what cost? I see it almost everyday and I don't understand what is the purpose? What if we not only excepted but appreciated our differences? What would happen if instead of judging someone, you would wish them well and send love? What type of a world would we create?

Open Reception July 15th
