Creation
Dream woman
Smile at me
An ancient memory
Collaboration of
Stars and dust
Melting into form
A space between
Silent footnote
Wake to embrace
The fullness not left
For a taste
The tingle
I can not
Touch
Gives way to
Swollen rivers
Holding the thickness
Of my thighs
Like trunks
Unmovable
Rushing waters
Create a song
That awakes
The trees
Weaving fingers
Cascade through
Flowing threads
Birthing
Magnetic fields
In the palms
Of my hands
The birds
A cue to sing
Melody wrap
Your arms
Like branches
Bending gently
In the breeze
Creating a song
That fills the stillness
Of this space
The blades of grass
Flow around your body
As my feet
Plant in fertile earth
Moving deeper
Seedlings begin
To take root
Arched in the light
Of the shadowy moon
Melodies
Spill off my breast
Making their way
Back to birth
Denseness of the forest
Beats the rhythm
Deep inside my belly
Taking my breath
The seer
The sage
The medicine of creation
Running through my veins
Giving way to
Primal hearts
Weaving its way
Back to ancient bliss

I wrote this poem while waiting for a friend. I wanting to write a poem about a digital collage I made but it was clear the poem was about Danu, a painting I did years ago. Danu is an Earth Mother goddess in Celtic tradition. She is thought to be the most ancient and is the mother of the Irish gods. She is both nurturing mother goddess and a powerful warrior goddess. This mist is thought to be a loving embrace from Danu.
